Pig's Knackers, Nun's Fist, Tinker's Winkle. Not the nicknames of some of Hersham's more colourful characters, but just a few of the more improbable names of the fine real ales you may be able to find at the 2009 Hersham Beer Festival, held once more at The Hersham Scout's HQ.
Elmbridge Community Safety Partnership has launched its 2009 Partnership Plan to tackle community safety issues across the borough.
As part of its requirement to make the Crime and Disorder Partnership more accountable to the community its work of last year was reviewed at a annual public meeting on Wednesday (June 17) and its new plan set out.
Esher Rugby Club's Summer Ball was held on Saturday (13) hosted by chairman of rubgy at the club and TV sports presenter John Inverdale.
The theme was a masque ball and was attended by 140 people in the Downey Suite at the club in Molesey Road, Hersham.
As part of Elmbridge Museum's centenary celebrations, a session is being held on Saturday June 13, for children of the borough to make time capsules.
The session is being held at the museum in Church Street, Weybridge between 11.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
The idea is for children to create a legacy, either with a drawing, a few mementos or some favourite items, which are then to be taken home to be buried for future generations to discover.
Councillor Jan Fuller, portfolio holder for leisure and cultural services, said: "Making time capsules is a fantastic way to join in with Elmbridge Museum's centenary celebrations. This really gives children the chance to create their own slice of history for future generations to enjoy."
Any child under 10 should be accompanied by an adult.
For more information, visit www.elmbridge.gov.uk/leisure/museum or by phoning the museum on 01932 843573.

I am different to other men.
The other day at work, a couple of the fellas were hunched around a computer screen. They were talking to each other in low voices and making the sort of 'phooaar!' noises that some chaps make when the latest copy of Bigjugs hits the doormat. I am sure I even heard one of them wolf-whistle. My voyeuristic curiousity got the better of me...
Picture the scene: It's a stifling summer's evening, 1960. You have just broken into your teens and a packet of Garibaldi biscuits. You're huddled round the old Bakelite wireless and struggling to listen to the strains of Radio Luxembourg as you try to block out the wet snoring sounds of your grandmother as she sucks her false teeth in and out.
All of a sudden, a sound unlike anything you have heard before leaps from the airwaves; a tribal, Red-Indian drumbeat underpins a beautifully twangy guitar. After the song, the presenter announces that you have just been listening to Apache by The Shadows.
The Shadows, along with the original Peter Pan of Pop; Sir Cliff of Richard, started a fire in the bellies of teenagers up and down the country in the late 50's and early 60's.
And it is a fire that still burns brightly for many as I found out recently.
Families gathered at Bell Farm Junior School in Hersham for its annual May Fair on Saturday (9).
Despite a credit crunch and the school losing out most of its regular sponsorship a record 1,130 visitors spent the day at the fair.
This may be the shortest blog I have committed to cyberspace so far, because I have just picked up my Chinese from The Full Moon restaurant, and I am eager to tuck into the good lady wife's sweet and sour dumplings.
Whilst waiting for my Oriental delights, I noticed that The Barley Mow has reopened. Good news because, as reported in my last blog, I feared the place had gone dumplings up, thanks to the recession.
